请教论坛高人，为什么一夜情叫one night stand; stand不是站的意思吗，或者翻成一夜的容忍？有出处否？谢谢！ 其实更常用的是 for one night，即419。以前北美的马戏团巡回演出的时候一般只在一个地方停留一夜，人们称这种马戏团为“one night stand"，后来人们又用他来指代一夜情.
此话有两个意思，原意应该是以下第一个解释。Stand是站台的意思吧。
解释：
1
a. A performance by a traveling musical or dramatic performer or group in one place on one night only. 流动音乐或戏剧人的节目表演，只在某一地点表演一个晚上而已。
b. The place at which such a performance is given.
上述的表演地点。
2. Slang A sexual encounter that is limited to only one occasion. 一夜情。
One-night stand也出现在美国作家Mark Twain “A Connecticut Yankee”的作品里。
